Late Madam Mercillina Iheyinwa Orji

Late Madam Mercillina Iheyinwa Orji was born to the family of late Mazi Francis Nsofor Nwokoro and Madam Hannah Nsofor Nwokoro of Amuvi village Arochukwu on 25th February, 1945.
MARITAL STATUS:
She was happily married for the past 42 years to Mazi Albert Nnaemezie Orji and was blessed with six wonderful children and many grand children.
EDUCATION:
She had her primary and secondary education at Zaria the Northern part of Nigeria, which perfects her in speaking Hausa language fluently.
She was also trained in various skills and trades, which makes her the manager of her business now. She was an ardent workaholic, a virtue she imbibed into all her children.
CHRISTIAN LIFE:
Mama embraces Christianity quite early in life through the help of her parent, born into a catholic family which she clings till date.
She was a devout catholic to the core and was involved in so many church activities and positions like
- W.O president at St Brigids Catholic Church Enugu for 6 years
- President of St Anthony’s Guild Society Enugu for 18 years
- Treasurer Purgaterian Society Enugu till date
- Member of Enugu Catholic Diocesan Pastoral Council for 6 years
- Patroness of so many societies and organizations like Block Rosary, CYON to mention only a few
SOCIAL LIFE ACTIVITIES:
She belonged to many social and philanthropic organizations, she touched many lives positively, she was a born model leader, the first leader to initiate Honouring award in Amuvi village. A mother worthy of emulation, a motivator from childhood, a great dancer both home and abroad where she was nicknamed IJERE NWANYI (Big Masquerade), She also held many offices and positions such as:
- President General Onyemaranwanneya both Home & Abroad for 7 years
- President Onyemaranwanneya Enugu Branch for 6 years.
- Vice President Okoroumeh General Enugu branch for 4 years
- Secretary Okoroumeh Women Enugu Branch for 4 years
TITLE HELD:
Several merit awards was given to mama, both in the church and Amuvi
- NNE DI UGWU by Onyemaranwanneya, Amuvi Arochukwu in 2007.
- NNE DI EBUBU by Catholic Diocese of Enugu in 2009
- MOTHER GENERAL by St Brigid’s Catholic Church Enugu in 2010.
