CITATION OF EZI ADA, EZINNE COMFORT UGOMMA OBIOMA OJI

Ezinne Comfort Ugomma Obioma Oji was born to Mazi Josiah Okereke Oji and Madam Christiana Ogbonney Nnalu Oji both of blessed memories and are of same Okoroavigbo family in Amuvi, Arochukwu L. G. A., Abia State.

Comfort started her early education at St. Peter’s Methodist Primary/Central School, Oturkpo Benue State but finished at Ogui Meth. Primary Schl., Enugu after the Nigeria Civil war on obtaining her First Schl. Leaving Certificate, attended Meth. Girls’ Sec. Schl. Ovim later changed to Girls’ Sec. Schl. Ovim and today back to its original name and its owner Methodist Church Nigeria.

While waiting for WASC result, attended former St. John’s Teacher’s Training College, PH, Rivers State for the then UPE Program, with her WASC and Teacher’s Grade II Cert. briefly: taught at Holy Rosary PH, worked at Barclays Bank Nig. now Union Bank. Same year 1979, she left to UK for further studies in Banking & Finance after securing admission at Broadwater College of Banking, obtained the revered Chartered Institute of Bankers Cert. Proceeded to South West London College for a degree in Business & Financial Studies. Comfort’s diversity into various professional studies such as: Institute of Professional Management; Personnel, Credit Management and Inst. of Computer Programmers & Management led her into becoming a full Member of these Bodies and upon her return to Nigeria she automatically became Member into Nigeria equivalent of the Bodies. She worked as Computer instructor to various organizations and to Union Bank Nig. where she successfully led a team of Managers for the computerization of Bank’s operations in the early ‘90s. Later joined the Oil & Gas Industries and worked with West African Oil Services Ltd now Dec Oil & Gas Ltd.

Being committed and dedicated she contributed immensely in the various developments of her home Church, St. Paul’s Meth. Church, Amuvi. Hence in 2012 an investiture as EZINNE was bestowed on her at Meth. Church Nig. Diocese of Uzuakoli. She didn’t stop or forgot root, hence, her services extended to her Community when joined Amuvi Welfare Union (AWU) and Okoroavigbo Family Union (OFU) Lagos Branch respectively (1989-1990) before her transfer to PH. She printed membership cards and donated same to OFU. She joined both PH Branches of the Unions.

She showed the stuff she’s made of in various ways, when OFU PH made her their Secretary cum Financial Sec. (2003-2008); Fin. Sec. (2008-2014) while at National level, Financial Sec. (2009-2012) and Treasurer (2018 to Date).

AWU PH made her the: Secretary 2003 Amuvi Day to the Committee; Financial Sec. (2004-2015)

AWU National: PRO (2006-2008); PRO/Financial Sec. (2008-2012) and Financial Sec. (2014-2018)

 

Further Services:

Comfort extends her services to her Great Alumni – Methodist Girls’ Sec. School, Ovim Global Alumni Association (MGSSOGAA) on inception 2017 she rendered and to date is still committed to her services to the Association, that a year after (October 2018) was elected to the post of Vice President of this Noble Association. And a year after, just this past August 2019, she was nominated and awarded the “Above and Beyond” for the services rendered during the last Convention held in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
